Shortly after the official Video and LP release of their latest single “Somebody” on April 20, 2018, The Chainsmokers (TCS) released a short video from their studio, which was less than a minute and uploaded for instructional purpose. They had been working on a longer video to go along with “Somebody” release. Their long-time collaborator, Rory Kramer, who has also worked with Justin Bieber, had been invited on tour with TCS during their Japan Tour and was making some photos and film shots which were to meant to show how “Somebody” came about.
Staying True to Yourself
The video was also instructional, as Taggart and Pall talked about on their social media accounts. In a recent CelebMix interview (April 23, 2018)the duo was reported to have said “Somebody” “talks about the struggle and importance of staying true to yourself whilst everyone else around you is focused on surrounding themselves with material objects.” In the light of the release Official release of “Somebody” and its Official Video, what was called an “instructional video” by TCS didn’t get released until June 9th, 2018.
Started in 2012 in New York, The Chainsmokers (TCS) is an internationally recognized, Billboard awarded, Forbes Charted EDM-Pop Duo. TCS first spotlight of recognition came when they were asked to perform on American Idol Season 13. TCS has had several of their singles move up the charts to become Top 10 on Billboard: “Closer,”(9.6.16) #1 for twelve weeks; “Closer” featured a guest artist Halsey.

“Don’t Let Me Down,” reached #3 on 7.16.16 featuring Daya. “Paris,” topped at #6 on 3.11.17; TCS were featured with Coldplay om “Something Just Like This,” and reached #3 on Billboard April 15, 2017. TCS’s latest two singles, “Sick Boy,”(2018)reached #1 in the Czech Republic and Germany; “Somebody” (2018) and reached #6 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Billboard Charts. Their single of 2016 “Roses” peaked at #6 on February 13, 2016. Since the video was uploaded it has received over three quarter of a million views, while the Official “Somebody” video has received 20M views on YouTube.
